Reader app to improve ebook accessibility

Beginning May 18, you may notice a change in the way you access some ebooks.

ProQuest Ebook Central is transitioning to a new ebook reader app that includes improved accessibility.

ProQuest Ebook Central, our largest ebook platform, is rolling out a new app called the Ebook Central Reader App. This replaces Adobe Digital Editions for full book downloads, allowing offline reading, and has been built for both mobile (Apple or Android) and desktop (PC or Mac) use.

Please note that this app is used for the downloading of loaned, full Ebook Central titles only. Searching, online reading and individual chapter downloads in PDF format will continue to be accessed directly from the Ebook Central page. Ebooks from other library resources, like Taylor & Francis, Wiley and ScienceDirect, will not be affected by this change.

Getting started with ProQuest:

  1. Follow the installation guide.
  2. Watch this short walkthrough video or sign up for a training session.
  3. Log in to Download the Ebook Central Reader App from the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android) or install it on your Windows/macOS laptop.
  4. Sign in with your Ebook Central account—the same one you use to access ebooks through our library.
  5. Start downloading your ebooks for offline reading.

If you have any questions or run into any issues, you can always reach out to the library staff for support, visit the Ebook Central LibGuide or reach out via our online form.
