Nominations are open for this year’s Founders Day awards!
The University of Utah Office of Alumni Relations annually presents its Founders Day Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards to alumni for their outstanding professional achievements, public service and/or commitment to the U.
Additionally, the Honorary Alumni Award is presented to an individual who either did not attend the U or who went to the U for a brief time (a year or less) and who has contributed significantly to the advancement of the U through personal involvement, including donations, volunteer work and/or other forms of support.
If you know an individual or couple who you feel deserves this recognition, please submit a nomination by 11:59 p.m. (MST) on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023. The award presentations will take place during the Founders Day celebration at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House in February 2024. Applications without a recommendation letter will not be considered.
Stay tuned for the event date and additional details. Click here to nominate.
Note: The Board of Governors Recognition and Giving Committee does not review submissions for currently employed University of Utah staff/faculty for the Distinguished or Honorary Alumnus/na Founders Day Awards. We do review and select former, retired, emerita or part-time faculty who have been retired from the University for at least six months prior to the application deadline (examples: lecturer, visiting professor, visiting artist or fellowship). Additionally, the committee does not review current holders of a public office. Questions about the selection timeline or criteria may be sent to Rachel Robertson at rachel.robertson@utah.edu.
