The Center for Student Wellness is officially recruiting for the first ever THEM (Teaching Healthy Expressions of Masculinity) Allies Cohort for the Spring 2023 semester. This is an opportunity to dive into the nuances of masculinity by highlighting the intersections of mental health and violence prevention while looking at the social norms and pressures men face today.
This 8-week allyship program is an opportunity to unpack gender norms and how they influence our society on the individual, relationship, and communal levels. We will also explore the topics of violence prevention and mental health, brainstorming the ways in which students can be an ally and influence cultural shifts on campus. Students who commit to the 8 weeks will receive a THEM Allies certification.
Students can apply here. The application deadline is Tuesday, December 6th. Faculty and staff can nominate student(s) who they believe would be a great fit for this position. If you know a student who you would like to nominate as an ally, use this link and we will reach out to them.
Be able to participate in-person:
Wednesdays January 11th – March 1st, 2023 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
