University of Utah employees have a new way to pay for laser vision correction procedures, eyeglasses and contact lenses at any John A. Moran Eye Center location.

Using the MyChart patient portal or app, employees can set up automatic monthly payments on a debit or credit card to pay over time. The option replaces payroll deductions and provides more flexibility since employees can choose the day of the month for payments.

While insurance doesn’t cover LASIK or PRK vision-correcting laser procedures, employees can use their flexible spending account dollars to fund them. Screenings to determine if LASIK/PRK is an option are free.

Moran offers the following discounts to part-time and full-time University of Utah employees and their benefitted family members:

• 20 percent off sunglasses
• 20 percent off prescription lenses
