Following a national search, Seth Bracken has been offered and has accepted the position of editor-in-chief of the University of Utah Magazine (formerly Continuum). Bracken has been the magazine’s managing editor for two years. Before joining main campus, he worked for more than five years at U of U Health, where he was an integral part of the production of the prestigious Algorithms for Innovation publication.
“Seth’s vision, skills, creativity and collaborative approach make him the ideal choice to build on the marvelous work the University Marketing & Communications team has done on this award-winning magazine,” said Bill Warren, the U’s chief marketing officer. “Besides having all the qualifications and experience we would want in an editor-in-chief, Seth is someone everyone seems to love working with.”
Bracken steps into the role held by Melody Murdock since 2015. After evolving and improving the magazine, leading its renaming and redesign, and expanding its circulation, Murdock recently moved into a new position with UMC as director of editorial and content strategy. She will remain involved with the magazine as executive editor.
