Megan Huff named to Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Team

Huff is among seven student-athletes from the Pac-12 on the distinguished list that are vying for the national player of the year award.

Senior forward Megan Huff has been named to the Women’s Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Team.

The midseason team includes 30 women’s players representing 20 colleges in seven different conferences from across the country. Huff is among seven student-athletes from the Pac-12 on the distinguished list that are vying for the national player of the year award.

The competition will narrow on March 4 when the team becomes 10 national semifinalists with four finalists being announced on March 22. The winner of the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year will be announced on April 6.

Huff is leading the Utes in scoring, averaging 20.2 points per game which ranks fifth in the Pac-12. She is also grabbing 9.9 rebounds per game, which ranks second in the league this season.

The Federal Way, Washington native has scored in double digits in all 23 games and has reached the 20-point mark in 12 games. She has 14 double-doubles this season including in the last five games, ranking second in the Pac-12 and in the top-20 nationally.

She is currently ranked in the top-25 nationally in double-doubles (16th), field goals made (22nd) and points per game (23rd). She also ranks in the top-10 in the Pac-12 in scoring (5th), rebounding (2nd), field goal percentage (9th), free throw percentage (7th) and blocks (5th).
