University of Utah leaders encourage all faculty and staff to participate in Academics for Black Survival and Wellness: The Rewind and Remix. This is the second installment of the national campaign which began in June.

From Aug. 1-21, 2020, non-Black academics are invited to participate in personal and professional development to “honor the toll of racial trauma on Black people, resist anti-Blackness and white supremacy and facilitate accountability and collective action.” It is intended to provide a space of wellness for Black academics preparing for the fall semester.

“Our team is working hard to deliver three weeks of empirically grounded and culturally relevant content that will move us closer to Black liberation,” the website states. “Academics cannot stay silent about anti-Black racism. Academics cannot remain silent in the face of racial injustice. Everyone needs to do their part.”
