Marriott Library’s Associate Dean for Collections and Scholarly Information Joel Thornton, has been selected to participate in the Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians (HLIAL). The HLIAL operates out of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.
“I’m honored to have been selected to participate in the Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians (HLIAL),” said Thornton. “In periods of rapid change and uncertainty, it is critical for leaders to devote time to elevating their leadership capabilities to enhance effectiveness and resiliency. HLIAL will equip me with tools and thought processes to achieve these goals.”
Thornton came to the Marriott Library in February 2022 from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where he served as director of research and instruction services and interim associate dean of research and learning. Prior to that, he served at Texas A&M University.
