Phishing is one way criminals use social engineering to trick you into sharing private and confidential information, such as a bank account number or login credentials. You can avoid phishing by learning to recognize some key indicators, including unknown senders, suspicious links, and spelling and grammar errors.
If you receive a suspicious email in your UMail account, report it using the Phish Alert Button or by forwarding it as an attachment to phish@utah.edu.
