The University of Utah Hospital Urgent Care at will close permanently effective September 1, 2022. Collaboratively working with the Emergency Department since it first opened in 2015, the U of U Hospital Urgent Care location operated a model unique in our community and provided Urgent Care access while we developed our Health Center and Urgent Care footprint throughout the metro area.

The University of Utah Hospital Urgent Care has seen a decline in visits over the last several years, in part due to our expanded urgent care presence along the Wasatch front. As U of U Health’s presence in the community has grown, we are very proud of our ability to offer care to our patients closer to where they live.

The Sugar House Health Center Urgent Care opened in 2019 and serves the east side of Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. For a complete list of Urgent Care locations and current hours of operation, click here.

Decisions like this are always difficult, and we are thankful  for the hard work of all the staff and providers who have been integral to the success of the University Hospital Urgent Care over the past 7 years. Thank you for everything you do in support of our missions!
