Great health plan news and vaccine clinic notice

Regence BlueCross BlueShield reported that emergency department visits for employees and family members on the academic campus and U Health academics employee health plan were down 9% from the prior plan year!  Even more impressive, our utilization was 23% below other plans that Regence administers.

This reduction reflects the hard work of our health plan members in managing health proactively, which helps keep plan costs low. Don’t forget that employees can use the RedMed Employee Health Clinic for their health needs.

As part of HR’s commitment to supporting your health and well-being, we are hosting one final drive-thru flu and COVID vaccine clinic at the University’s Sandy Center location.

Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day
 3:30-5:30 p.m.
One Sandy Center, 10011 Centennial Parkway, Sandy, UT

Nurses from Community Nursing Services (CNS) will be administering vaccinations. CNS can bill insurance for those not enrolled in the University’s Employee Health Care Plan, making it easy and accessible to everyone.  Bring your state ID (generally your Driver’s License) and health plan ID card.

Let’s take this preventive step together to protect ourselves and our community.  PLUS, employees receive WellU credit for each of the vaccinations.

Our Halloween drive-thru vaccination clinic at Rice-Eccles was a big success; however, we still have lots of leftover candy for the Sandy clinic to reward little ones (and grown-ups) who get their vaccinations.
