The Rice-Eccles Stadium will host the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour on Saturday, July 17. As thousands of fans head over to Utah’s first major concert in 2021, expect traffic delays, road closures and limited parking. Guests attending this sold-out concert should prepare for the following transportation impacts:
Road closures
One westbound lane on 500 South will be closed from July 12 – 19. In addition, on the day of the concert, two road closures will take place as guests egress. This closure will last for a maximum of one hour after the concert ends.
- 500 South will be closed between Guardsman Way to 1300 East.
- On 500 South, the southbound left-turn lanes heading westbound towards 1300 East and 1100 East will be closed.
These road impacts will not affect pedestrians or cyclists.
Parking
In preparation for the concert, the south section of the Stadium Lot (Lot 1) will be closed beginning July 12. This area of the lot will reopen on July 20.
On the concert day, guests may pay a $20 fee to park in the lots closest to the stadium. In addition, general parking is available in the various lots on campus. The Stadium Lot is reserved for VIP parking. See the map below for more details.
