To celebrate the founding of the University of Utah in 1850, U Alumni annually recognize alumni and honorary alumni who have excelled professionally, served the local and national communities, and supported the university in its mission. The annual distinguished and honorary alumni awards, along with honorary degrees, are the highest honors awarded by the U.

Founders Day will be celebrated virtually early in 2021. We look forward to being able to host our entire U community from around the country this year.

This year the Alumni Board of Governors and Recognition and Giving Committee is committed to highlighting recipients who are underrepresented and come from communities who have not historically been the focal point of Founders Day. We strive to have more diversity and inclusion efforts in our overall nomination process and selections.
