A three-year USA National Team member and two-time national all-around champion, freshman Maile O’Keefe comes to Utah following a tremendous elite career. One of the program’s most decorated signees, O’Keefe is the first P&G national all-around champion to ever sign with the Utes.
The Las Vegas native tallied five gold medals at the P&G Championships in the junior division, winning the all-around in 2016 and 2017, beam and floor in 2016 and bars in 2017. O’Keefe also won silver medals on vault, beam and floor at the 2017 P&G Championships. At the 2017 U.S. Classic, O’Keefe placed second in the all-around and on vault and floor against the nation’s top competition.
The freshman also has quite the international resume, which includes all-around and floor titles for gold-medal Team USA at the 2017 Gymnix International in Montreal. O’Keefe also played a key role in Team USA’s gold medal at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy, winning a silver in the all-around and floor and a bronze on bars and beam.
O’Keefe graduated from Odyssey Charter School this past spring, which was a year ahead of her class. Eager to join the Utes, the all-arounder enrolled in summer courses and participated in voluntary summer training. For a full look at O’Keefe’s gymnastics accolades and other information, click here.
