Encourage mental wellness

During these trying times of sickness and earthquakes, it is understandable for employees and their family members to feel fear and anxiety.  Some ideas:

  • Stay connected: Social distancing should not equal social isolation. Connect with coworkers using email, video conferencing and phone calls.
  • Don’t forget to get some physical activity: Build breaks into your day for exercise and fresh air. Keep your personal daily routines and add new healthy ones.
  • Get rest and respite: Make sure you are getting adequate sleep and taking respite time to engage in activities you enjoy.

The Employee Assistance Program will be available to ALL University employees, regardless of benefits-eligible status, through June 30, 2020.  EAP appointments are available virtually (via smart phone, tablet or computer) or in person.  Contact the EAP at (801) 587-9319 or (800) 926-9619.

The EAP is also offering a variety of workshops on reducing stress and anxiety and talking with your children about their anxiety, as well as other relationship and communication issues.  To see upcoming workshops, visit https://blomquisthale.com/Work-Shops.html.
