Academic Advising Award winners

Two University of Utah academic advisors claimed top spots while another advisor was recently named Advisor of the Year.

The results are in from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) 2019 Global Awards Committee. After reading and reviewing more than 200 nominations, two University of Utah academic advisors claimed top spots.

  • Tracey Farnsworth, Outstanding Advisor, Primary Category Award
  • Elizabeth Perez, Outstanding New Advisor, Primary Role Award

The NACADA Global Awards recognize individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising within higher education, ultimately enhancing student success.

The Utah Advising Association also recently named Jason Atherton as Advisor of the Year. Atherton is the Director of Academic Standards at the U’s Academic Advising Center.

“Our academic advisors work tirelessly to enhance the educational and professional development of students,” said Beth Howard, associate dean of the U’s Academic Advising Center. “This national and state recognition for Tracey, Elizabeth and Jason demonstrates their dedication to outstanding academic advising and a true dedication to helping our students succeed.”
