Please consider nominating someone for an honorary degree, the university’s highest honor. The deadline for 2022 honorary degree nominations is October 7, 2021.
Upon recommendation by the president and approval by the Board of Trustees, honorary degrees are awarded to individuals who have achieved unusual distinction in service to the university and/or society in such areas as research, scholarship, education, the arts, humanities, the professions, business, government service, civic affairs, human rights, humanitarian outreach, social activism, innovation and invention.
Please note that the following are not eligible to receive an honorary doctorate: Current members of the Utah Board of Higher Education; current members of the University of Utah Board of Trustees; current members of the University of Utah faculty and staff.
Submission deadline: October 7, 2021.
