The U’s Learning Center invites students to check out its new location and get connected with tutors at an open house.

The University of Utah’s Learning Center invites all currently enrolled U students to check out its new location and set themselves up for a successful spring semester. Over the summer, the Learning Center moved from the University Counseling Center to the Marriott Library, room 1738, where an open house will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, from 2-4 p.m.

“The open house is an opportunity for students, staff and faculty to see our new space and learn more about the center,” said Casey Hoekstra, program manager of the center. “It’s also a chance for students to get connected with tutors. Thanks to a new and generous donation from the Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation, every student now receives three free tutoring sessions each semester. Each individual tutoring session after that will cost $5 per hour.”

The Learning Center strives to empower students to succeed by offering tutors, supplemental instruction for select courses and one-on-one consulting to help students improve their learning strategies and techniques.
