The sixth annual Giving Day—spanning 1,850 minutes on April 2-3—was a collaborative experience inviting all to participate, commemorate and invest in the University of Utah’s future. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and university supporters from around the globe came together to raise an astounding $1.76 million for programs, initiatives and services provided at the U.
Giving Day showcased six important causes: alumni, belonging, community, creatives, health and scholarships. Donors had the opportunity to support something they care about this Giving Day by choosing a project under one or more of these causes that resonated with them. More than 4,700 donors participated this year, and we received gifts from all 50 states!
“We’re proud of our U community and how they came together this Giving Day. This was our second year highlighting causes, and we are thrilled with the response from donors. It’s incredibly impactful to see so many people rally behind what’s important to them,” said Rachel Robertson, senior director of annual giving. In response to how this year was different, Robertson said, “One big difference this year was how many champions we had. More people than ever before signed up to champion a project that was important to them and it made a significant difference in getting the attention of the public and encouraging donations.”
Through challenges, matches and active social media campaigns, the support felt stronger and more widespread than ever. “This Giving Day is going to be hard to top, but our team is already looking forward to how we can make Giving Day 2025 even better. Thanks to everyone who was a part of this initiative,” said Robertson.
The U’s sixth Giving Day is in the books, and it was a historic one. However, did you know that you can donate year-round to areas on campus that need your support? You can make a one-time gift here or sign up for a payroll deduction.
Thank U!
