Roots, Race & Culture returns for season 4

PBS Utah is thrilled to announce the return of “Roots, Race & Culture” for a highly anticipated fourth season. Join hosts Lonzo Liggins and Danor Gerald as they continue their mission in season 4 where they delve into the rich history, challenges, and contributions of Hispanic Americans, Black communities, and BIPOC artists in Utah. Guests include artists, changemakers, experts, and local spiritual leaders who will provide unique, first-hand perspectives and insights.

“I think this season is our best line-up yet,” said Director of Content Lisa Olken. “We have a fun mix of laughter, levity, and gravity with inspiring guests from all walks of life. We’re discussing everything from teaching history in schools and the family-friendly lowriding community, to the role of the churches and making outdoor recreation more accessible for everyone.”

A winner of the Afro Utah 2022 DEI Leadership Award, 2022 NETA Public Media Award finalist, 46th Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards finalist, and finalist for the 2024 Denton Black Film Festival in the Best Web/Episodic Series category, “Roots, Race & Culture” season 4 continues to be an enlightening and enriching journey through various cultures and perspectives. Tune in to the season premiere on Thursday, February 1, at 9:30 p.m. on PBS Utah 7.1.
