We’re pleased to announce Virtual Visits is now available for employees and their family who are enrolled in the university’s employee health care plan. Virtual Visits is a new way to provide quick, convenient care for many non-life threatening conditions.  Virtual Visits gives you quick access to a University of Utah Health provider.  This skilled care team includes doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.  Providers can conveniently prescribe many medications and will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice. However, there are some limitations with controlled substances and pain medication.

To access a Virtual Visit:

  • You will need a connection from your phone, tablet or computer with audio and video capabilities (All audio and video footage recorded during Virtual Visits is private and secure).  Virtual Visits meets all federal patient privacy requirements.
  • An updated web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
  • Call 801-213-8669 (UNOW)
  • Visit for additional information
  • Available from 9 am-9 pm, 7 days a week, including most holidays

University employees and their families who are enrolled in the University of Utah Advantage or Comprehensive health plan will have access to Virtual Visits for just a $5 copay.  Employees enrolled in the Consumer Directed Health plan (CDHP) will have access to Virtual Visits for a $49 fee.
