Wellness visits now available at RedMed

RedMed Employee Health Clinic is now offering wellness visits as a WellU Wellness Activity.  Visits must be scheduled in advance – schedule by calling RedMed at (801) 213-3303 or schedule online at  The visit with a nurse practitioner will include basic labs, a brief physical exam and preventive health screenings.  Employees will be able to discuss any health concerns and create a wellness plan.  Employees will be referred to a primary care provider for any ongoing, chronic conditions.  Get a jump on your WellU requirements and schedule soon.  Employees are encouraged to schedule as soon as possible – appointments toward the end of the plan year will fill up quickly.

Increased parental leave and other policy changes

Parental leave:  Employees who have children born or placed for adoption January 1, 2023 or after are eligible for an increased amount of Parental Leave.  Eligible employees will receive six weeks of pay for their regular work hours or twelve weeks of half pay for their regular work hours.  See Rule 5-200A for eligibility rules and additional information.

Non-health related leaves of absence:  “Funeral Leave” was changed to “Bereavement Leave” and the ability for an employee to take leave following a miscarriage or stillbirth was added.  See Rule 5-201A.

Holidays:  Juneteenth National Freedom Day was added each June.  See Policy 5-300.

Retirement and retiree benefits:  Updated rules were added regarding appointment to emeritus
