Friday, October 27
4-6 p.m.
545 Guardsman Way “tailgating” parking lot

The Spooktacular Tailgating is a fun twist on Trunk or Treat events, providing a fantastic way for families to come together and enjoy a safe alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. It’s also the perfect opportunity to showcase costumes and creativity. Children will explore our designated area, moving from car to car just as they would during trick-or-treating, stopping at each creatively decorated trunk to play a game or receive a treat.

This event is open to the public. Anyone with access to a vehicle who wants to take part in this community-building event may do so. Trunk decorating participants are encouraged to register in advance to ensure we have enough parking space.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their cars, but please keep in mind that this event is primarily for families with young children, so overly spooky decorations are not recommended.

Popular trunk decorating themes include children’s TV or movie characters and scenes. Trunk stations may even feature small carnival-style games for kids to enjoy, such as ring toss, bowling, or shooting foam basketballs. These games should be short and easy for very young children to play. Children who win the games can receive extra prizes or treats, but every child should receive at least one treat at each station, regardless of whether they win the game.

Car owners and volunteers should arrive at 3:30 PM to set up before the festivities begin. Volunteers will be available to assist with parking and ensure that both the back and front rows are equally filled. This arrangement creates a safe zone, using the cars to prevent children from wandering into the road.
