The 15th annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week celebration begins Sept. 16, 2024! Since 2009, this week of gratitude has been held nationwide to acknowledge the major contributions postdocs have made to U.S. research and innovation. In addition to various free virtual events happening around the country, the Graduate School, Office of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs and Utah Postdoctoral Association (UPDA) are proud to host a variety of activities on the University of Utah campus and in Salt Lake City.
These include:
- Headshots and Espresso Shots Breakfast
Come have breakfast with Postdoc Affairs and the UPDA. A photographer will be on-site for postdocs looking to update their professional headshot photos. - Career Panel for Social Science Postdocs
An online panel of speakers will discuss career paths for postdocs in the social sciences.
- NPAW Keynote Address—“Lab to Job”
Dr. Mark Parnell will give a talk on successful strategies for working in the biotech industry
- Career Development Workshop – The Hidden Curriculum
Dr. Neil Vander Most will discuss how to manage unwritten rules in academia and industry. - From Desert to Mountains: Launching your Academic Career
Join an online panel with speakers from the University of Utah, New Mexico State University, and the University of Colorado Boulder to discuss strategies for success in academic positions. - NPAW Postdoc Social
