Intersectional inquiry cuts across disciplines and modalities – from the social sciences, scientific, humanistic and the arts. Join us for a panel discussion to learn about how intersectionality as methodology is seminal to fields of research, where difference, power dynamics and interlocking identities are part of who we are as humans.
The discussion will be moderated by Annie Isabel Fukushima, interim associate dean of research and academic affairs for the School for Cultural and Social Transformation. Dean Ruma Chopra and Avery Edenfield, director of the Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research at Utah State University, will give opening remarks.
Panelists are: Roger Renteria, sociology Ph.D. candidate; Jaimie Crumley, assistant professor, gender studies; Joselli Deans, associate professor, dance; and Sonia and Miriam Albert-Sobrino, assistant professors, film & media arts (known as the Also Sisters).
When: Nov. 2, 4-6 p.m.
Where: Eccles Alumni House
