ANNOUNCEMENTS

Global Learning Across the Disciplines (GLAD) grants are transforming the curriculum at the U to provide access to global learning for all students. U students will need global and intercultural competencies to effectively work and live in an increasingly interconnected world. Our goal is to educate future leaders who have the skills and knowledge to collaborate with individuals from cultures, backgrounds and perspectives different from their own to address complex problems that transcend borders.

Two GLAD grants of $10,000 each are available every semester. Click here to learn more.

The deadline on Feb. 7, 2020, is to submit a pre-proposal, which includes the following:

  1. A cover page including the project title, team member names (indicate the PI), department(s) and contact information.
  2. A one-page outline of the project.

The GLAD grant competition is open to faculty teams who plan to conduct a curriculum or course revision to include global learning outcomes and an assessment process to determine if course content and student learning meet those outcomes. Applicants can view past proposals (full proposals) for successful projects at the website above. A committee will select pre-proposals that qualify for submission of a full proposal.

Contact Dr. Sabine C. Klahr, associate chief global officer, at s.klahr@utah.edu or 801-587-8888 to discuss your idea for a pre-proposal.

(Please note: Sabine will not be available from Jan. 23-Feb. 1 and therefore, scheduling a time or contacting her before Jan. 23 would be best.)
