Everything you need to know about registering, the lottery, and claiming tickets for the 2026 football season.

Registration timeline

  • Registration opens: April 7
  • Registration closes: May 15 at 5:00 PM (MT)

It does not matter when a student registers during the registration window. All students who register by May 15 at 5 PM have a chance in the lottery.

How the lottery works

  1. Log into your Utah Student Ticket Account (CIS login required).
  2. Register for the MUSS Lottery.
  3. Pay the $5 lottery processing fee. – We’re still working with athletics on whether this will be refunded if a student is not selected. We want it to be refunded.
  4. Registration closes May 15 at 5 PM.

After registration closes:

  • MUSS compiles the final list of entries.
  • MUSS Rewards bonus entries are added:
    • 500 points per non-football event attended
    • Every 2,000 points = one additional lottery entry
  • Winners are selected at random.

If you are selected:

  • You will be charged $70 for your 2026 MUSS+ ticket.

New for 2026: Game-by-game claim process

Being selected in the lottery guarantees the opportunity to claim a MUSS+ ticket for each home game — but you must claim it each week.

Claim window

  • Open Wednesday & Thursday the week prior to each home game.
  • Unclaimed tickets will move to the Single Game Student Ticket pool.

Attendance policy

  • If you claim a ticket and do not use it, you will not be eligible to claim a ticket for the next home game.
(Adjustments will be made for back-to-back home games.)
  • More than two unused claimed tickets will result in forfeiting your guaranteed MUSS ticket.
  • Students who lose guaranteed status may still claim single-game tickets beginning the Monday prior to each home game.

Student Tickets: Non-transferrable

Use of a MUSS+ claimed ticket or single game student tickets by any individual other than the original purchaser may result in revocation of the pass without refund. Unauthorized resale or transfer of MUSS+ or claimed tickets is strictly prohibited and may lead to denial of entry, removal from an event, and/or cancellation of the pass.

Eligibility verification

Student tickets are for current degree-seeking University of Utah students only. Students in Continuing Education classes, Certificate/Credential programs, and non-matriculated classes, online students, or students who have taken a leave of absence from the University are not eligible for student tickets. Recent graduates are not eligible for MUSS tickets. Student eligibility will be verified again in early August before the season begins. Students who are not eligible for student tickets will lose access, and those tickets will move to the single-game allotment.

Single-game student tickets (free)

Available to all current eligible students who were not selected in the MUSS Lottery.

  • Tickets become available Monday at noon the week of the home game. (Tuesday the week before the Arkansas game)
  • Tickets are loaded into student accounts on Thursday prior to the game.

Refund policy

Requests for refunds will be accepted via a form on the MUSS webpage. Requests must be received prior to the deadline, July 31, 2026. The refund request should include the full name, phone number, UNid, Utah e-mail address, and the item(s) requested to be refunded.

Spouse tickets

A limited number of spouse tickets will be available to anyone who is selected for a MUSS+ ticket. The price for the spouse ticket is $600. If eligible students are interested, an email request can be sent to muss@alumni.utah.edu with the student’s name, UNid, student email address, and phone number. A valid marriage certificate will also need to be sent. Upon receipt and verification, instructions on purchasing the spouse ticket will be sent to the student who made the request.
