New technologies, AI tools and shifting expectations are changing how people work across nearly every industry. The skills that got someone into a role aren’t always the ones that help them grow in it and there’s real opportunity in staying curious and building new ones along the way.
That’s where the Professional Education program at the University of Utah comes in. The program is making it a little easier for members of the U community to keep learning, with a new discount aimed squarely at people actively juggling full careers.
University of Utah employees, alumni and veterans can now get 10% off select online professional programs built to help working professionals pick up practical, career-ready skills, without putting the rest of life on hold.
Built for people who are already busy
Current options include courses in AI, from the fundamentals in AI Essentials to industry-specific applications in HR, marketing, sales and data analysis. Other offerings include vibe coding and programs in digital project management and business analytics.
Building new skills is one of the most direct ways professionals can keep developing alongside a changing workplace and is a chance to invest in yourself, on your own schedule.
“One of the most important skills that professionals can develop and maintain is the ability to keep learning,” says Ashley Kramer, senior director for academic professional programs. “Technology and workforce expectations will continue to evolve, but adaptability and curiosity remain powerful career advantages.”
The programs reflect a broader goal for Professional Education: helping people develop skills they can put to use immediately, while also opening doors for whatever comes next in their career.
