MEET THE GRADUATES: MEL MOEINVAZIRI

I grew up in a very international family. My dad is from Iran, my mom is Portuguese and my step-mom is from the Philippines. I came to law school with this in mind and this has been my entire focus here, even my involvement in the Pro Bono Initiative has been centered around clinics for refugees and immigrants.

Honoring our veterans

The U will pay tribute to 11 veterans at its 21st annual Veterans Day commemoration ceremony, Friday, Nov. 9, 2018.

Humans of the U: Gregory Skedros

“In 1949, I was commissioned as a 2ndΒ lieutenant in the Air Force and spent two years as the pharmacy officer at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines during the Korean conflict. Upon my return, I was employed at Professional Pharmacy, Medical Arts Pharmacy and lastly as a civilian pharmacy officer at Hill Air Force Base hospital. In 1961, I opened Mountain View Pharmacy in Bountiful. . . .At that time there was no Chinese restaurant in Bountiful. We were fortunate to find a couple from Vernal that started off as the first chefs at the Mandarin.”
