National Disability Studies award

Lezlie Frye, assistant professor of gender studies and disability studies at the University of Utah, has won the 2020 Irving K. Zola Award for Emerging Scholars in Disability Studies for her paper, β€œCripping the β€˜Crack Baby’ Epidemic: A Feminist Genealogy.”

Pacific Islands Studies Symposium

This two-part virtual experience brings into dialogue scholars and community members from the Pasifika diaspora from as far north as Minnesota and all the way south to Australia.

PACIFIC ISLANDER INITIATIVE

The U is in the process of hiring two new full-time faculty in Pacific Islander studies and recently created a new scholarship aimed at recruiting and retaining talented Pacific Islander students.

A NEW SPACE FOR CAMPUS KIDS

The U’s Child and Family Development Center remodel includes new facilities, Montessori teaching method and expanded ages and programming.
