U launches new all-purpose app

It’s official, the University of Utah has launched a new mobile app designed to provide students, staff and visitors with a dynamic, personalized campus experience. Currently available for download, Utah 360 provides a customized, streamlined way to stay connected with important happenings at the U.

The new app integrates a wide range of information, including athletics, student services, campus updates and safety resources into a single platform—replacing Utah 360 (Athletics), Mobile U, One U and Utah Tickets in addition Utah Alumni in time for Homecoming with the goal of transition students to alumnus without losing contact.

Utah 360 will launch on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in time for New Student Orientation. It will automatically replace Utah 360 (Athletics). Mobile U, One U, and Utah Tickets will be turned off over the summer. The Office of Alumni Relations will transition its app to coordinate with Homecoming in October.

“Utah 360 makes it simpler for anyone interacting with the U to find the information they need,” said U Chief Operating Officer Jeff Labrum. “We’ve reimagined our campus app to focus on user experience and ease, as well as functionality. Members of every U community can customize the app to receive information about athletics, academic calendars, student events, campus news and so much more without being overwhelmed with communication that doesn’t apply to their campus experience.”

From accessing tickets to any University of Utah athletics event to reading the latest news from @theU, the app serves as a customizable gateway for users to manage their interests.

“Utah 360 is a cutting-edge, personalized app designed to enable every individual to engage seamlessly with the U, regardless of their role, and to discover resources that really add value to their U experience,” said Sarah Williams, senior product manager in the COO’s office.

The app launch coincides with the start of the fall semester as students return to campus and is a feature of a larger effort to communicate information in ways they prefer.

“Utah 360 involves so much of students’ day-to-day lives at the U. They eat here. They study here. They socialize here, and there are a lot of details that go into making their campus lives easier,” said Chief Experience Officer Andrea Thomas. “Putting information in usable, customizable ways will make their experience simpler and more seamless.”

New users can download Utah 360 to explore all the university has to offer and customize their experience according to their usage preferences. With the new app launch, students and university employees are urged to delete the legacy Mobile U app as they transition to Utah 360 for an all-in-one campus experience.
