Patient care, innovative research and path-breaking education were the focus of a short celebration last week marking the placement of the final beam on the new Ambulatory Care Complex last week. Faculty, staff, patients and students were encouraged to sign the beam before it was put in place by the crew from Jacobsen Construction. The new building will greatly expand patient capacity at University Hospital and is expected to open next year.

“This new facility also highlights our dedication to providing Utah with excellent health care as well as world-class research and health sciences education. The University of Utah, by many indicators, has never been stronger. University Hospital continues to be ranked as a top 10, high-quality health-care facility in the nation. This is due in no small part to our team’s commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience,” said President Ruth V. Watkins.
