University of Utah President Ruth Watkins visited three parts of the state this summer, meeting with government, business, higher education and community leaders. The tour allowed President Watkins to learn business and community needs and challenges, from the demand for more engineers to supporting a diverse workforce. The president visited Moab and Green River on the third stage of the “Ruth 66 University for Utah Road Tour.”

President Watkins visited briefly with a group of young women from Pleasant Grove—some potential Utes among them—as they prepared to launch into the Colorado River at the Dewey Bridge Ramp.
