Reposted from the J. Willard Marriott Library Blog.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to Utah football, the “Running with the Utes” exhibition currently on display in the Special Collections Reading Room at the Marriott Library offers a fascinating look at the growth of the Utah Utes football.

Explore the rich history of Utah football and Homecoming. Through photographs, video and artifacts, this exhibit showcases the evolution of the team, its traditions and the passionate community that surrounds it.

Discover the team’s early history, starting in 1892 when early squads struggled in games against local high school teams. Treasures from Special Collections show how legendary coaches like Ike Armstrong and Jack Curtice transformed the Utes into a powerhouse, persevering through times of trouble to build a legacy of excellence.

Visitors will encounter the unwavering spirit of Ute fans, who braved snowstorms and losing seasons to cheer on their team. Historic photographs and newspapers illustrate the evolution of the team name, fan song and gameday traditions.
