The University of Utah’s Center for Disability & Access (CDA) provides students with disabilities accommodations to make their U journey the best it can be. Students they serve may have apparent disabilities or non-apparent disabilities. Some of these non-apparent disabilities–such as autism, ADHD and learning disabilities–fall under the umbrella term of neurodiversity.
“Neurodiversity celebrates the differences in the way our brains think, learn and process information,” said Shalyse McKnight, manager of neurodiversity services at the CDA. “Students who are neurodivergent might also need support along the way, and we want to make sure they are aware of what services the campus has to offer.”
The inaugural Neurodiversity & Disability Awareness Week is March 17-21, 2025. Sponsored by the CDA, the pillar event will host a student panel to hear from students with disabilities and an information session to learn about web accessibility. The week will round out with a social on Friday to have some fun and meet new people. These events are designed for students, faculty, and staff, whether they identify as a person with a disability or just want to learn ways to support our campus community. Join us to hear from your peers and learn about the myriad services the CDA can provide!
