Impacts of the upcoming football game at Rice-Eccles Stadium

Rice-Eccles Stadium will be hosting the third home football game, Utah vs Arizona State University, on October 11th, 2025. The game will run from 8:15 PM to 11:45 PM, with doors opening at 6:15 PM.

The University would like to make you aware of the following impacts:

Transportation Impacts

The tailgate parking lot will be impacted beginning Friday, October 10th at 6pm through Satuday, October 11. Parking impacts to the West Stadium Parking Lot will begin on Saturday, October 11th at 6:00 AM, and will continue through Sunday, October 12th. Notice signs will be placed at each entrance of the parking lot one week prior to notifying motorists.a

Guardsman Way will be closed on Saturday, October 11th from 5:15 PM – 8:45 PM. Electronic message boards went up on Friday, October 3rd notifying the closure.

This event will have zero impact on UTA Trax, other than additional riders.

The permits required for these road closures were issued by the Salt Lake City Department of Public Services and the Utah Department of Transportation. Noise and Lights

On event day, residents in surrounding communities can expect loud noises associated with events such as music, crowds cheering, announcers speaking, cannon blasts, pyrotechnics, and more. Residents may also notice bright illuminations coming from the Stadium and possibly other areas. However, the increased sound level will subside when the event ends.

Public Safety

There will be an increased police presence during the event to direct traffic at all major thoroughfares surrounding Rice-Eccles Stadium. In addition, police will be in and around the stadium during the event, then back out into the surrounding areas to direct traffic as the event ends.
