“Employee Appreciation Day (our beloved EAD) carries much tradition here at the University of Utah.  Every year, EAD brings all employees together in one place at one time and allows the University to express sincere thanks, for all of the tremendous work being done at our institution.  Custodians, clerks, accountants, student advisors, researchers, instructors, lab technicians (and the list goes on) — no matter what position individuals hold, we are all connected and we are all critical to the mission and success of the University.

It has been my honor to serve as the chair of the EAD organizing committee for some 10 years. Having been held, in its current format, for 13 consecutive years.

It is my pleasure to introduce, and express my thanks to Administrative Manager in HR Jess Hampton, who now takes over as the EAD organizing committee chair.  Jess brings a tremendous wealth of experience in event organizing, planning and execution.  I very much look forward to supporting EAD every year, now as a volunteer!

To our sponsors, you make it possible for the U to host this event year after year. Your contributions mean a great deal to us. And finally, I would like to sincerely thank all the amazing volunteers who gave of their time, we couldn’t have done this without you.”
