The University of Utah’s Outdoor Adventures (OA) program invites you to experience the stunning landscapes of Utah through its diverse lineup of trips as well as learning valuable wilderness skills by registering for spring trips and clinics.
Whether you’re a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or just starting to explore Utah, these excursions offer adventure, skill development and the chance to connect with a vibrant outdoor community.
Activities on deck for spring 2025 include backcountry touring that provides discovery of Utah’s rugged landscapes on guided day trips into the backcountry. Other options include overnight backcountry yurt expeditions where participants enjoy a blend of adventure and coziness with a stay in a yurt; and daylong guided cross-country ski trips that travel along picturesque trails that are perfect for beginners and experienced skiers alike.
Registration is now open. The enrollment cost covers essentials like food, transportation and group gear such as skis and tents.
The OA program also offers an array of hands-on spring clinics designed to teach essential techniques for thriving in the great outdoors. No matter your experience level, these clinics offer practical skills, insightful knowledge and opportunities to connect with other outdoor lovers.
Spring clinics include backcountry cooking where participants learn to master the art of preparing delicious meals in the wilderness. There is a knot and know-how course that teaches essential knots and techniques for outdoor activities and survival. Other clinics include ski repair and maintenance, slacklining as well as winter weather forecasting and preparedness.
Each clinic is led by experienced instructors who strive to make learning engaging and fun. The workshops are a great way to enhance your outdoor experiences and build confidence for future adventures.
The public, U-affiliated individuals and significant others are all eligible to participate with a valid Campus Recreation Services membership.
This spring, explore the great outdoors, develop new skills and make lasting memories with fellow students. For more information, visit the Outdoor Adventures office or check out their website.
