2019 Advances in Pediatric Retina Course

The Moran Eye Center in conjunction with Duke University is hosting the 2019 Advances in Pediatric Retina Course at the University of Utah

This course will focus on the advances in diagnosis and surgical management of a wide spectrum of pediatric retinal diseases. It will feature interactive panel discussions, with a debate about different surgical approaches to these pathologies and management of complications. Common and challenging cases will be presented with preoperative diagnostic imaging and intraoperative videos.

Summer Transportation Institute Camp

Explore engineering in this week-long event dedicated to introducing 2019-20 ninth grade high school students to the transportation industry. Participants will experience hands-on activities while working with the professional researchers and faculty of the University of Utah. Participants will have the opportunity to experience on-campus amenities, field trips and explore career opportunities while focusing on STEM fundamentals.

2019 U.S. Gymnastics Qualifiers: American Classic

The American Classic and Hopes Classic are returning to the Jon M. Huntsman Center on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City. Tickets are now on sale for both events, with the Hopes Classic taking place Friday, June 21, and the American Classic on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Both competitions are competitive qualifiers for women’s gymnastics. The American Classic supports hopefuls for the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri, in August. The Hopes Classic supports hopefuls for the Hopes Championships, held in conjunction with the U.S. Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Multi-day passes, which include every session of both the Hopes Classic and the American Classic, range in price from $15-$25. Path to the Pacific—Spike 150 Exhibition

Willard Marriott Library presents the exhibition “Path to the Pacific: Building the Transcontinental Railroad.” The public is welcome to enjoy a display of rare books, archival materials and two gallery walls showcasing photographs and artistic works depicting key locations and events in the building of the Transcontinental Railroad.
