Reimagine Education Awards: Open for applications


UNIVERSITY OF UTAH CAREER SERVICES CHANGING ITS NAME TO THE CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER [bs_row class=”row”][bs_col class=”col-sm-4″][/bs_col][bs_col class=”col-sm-8″]University of Utah Career Services is changing its name to better reflect its mission to prepare students for their future careers and foster career readiness through early engagement with the center. It will be called the Career and Professional Development Center. The center will still provide the same helpful career coaching resources to students, and all of the essential functions it has always provided will remain the same.

  • General career coaching for students to reflect on their strengths, interests, skills and experiences
  • Exploration of career options and internships
  • Assisting students in their career planning process
  • Providing events to connect with employers and alumni

U DOCTORAL STUDENT CHOSEN AS FINALIST OF THE 2017 REAXYS PH.D. PRIZE[bs_row class=”row”][bs_col class=”col-sm-4″][/bs_col][bs_col class=”col-sm-8″]Harshkumar Patel, a doctoral student in chemistry from the Matthew Sigman group has been chosen as finalist of the 2017 Reaxys Ph.D. Prize. Since its launch in 2010, the Reaxys Ph.D. Prize has aimed to recognize chemistry doctoral students and recent graduates, fostering creativity in groundbreaking chemistry by identifying tomorrow’s chemistry leaders and empowering them to magnify the impact of their work.

Among nearly 550 applicants from around the globe, Patel was selected due to the remarkable originality, innovation, relevance and methodological rigor of his paper “Enantioselective Palladium-Catalyzed Alkenylation of Trisubstituted Alkenols To Form Allylic Quaternary Centers.” He is invited to present his work at the Prize Symposium on Oct. 19-20 in Shanghai, where the three winners of this year’s prize will be selected.

Educational innovators from all the world can select one of our 15 award categories and submit their projects for free here until the call for submissions closes on July 31, 2017.

The overall winner will receive $50,000 in funding. The award ceremony and gala dinner will take place Dec. 5, 2017, at the Reimagine Education Conference in Philadelphia.
