But Prevent Blindness America has declared December as Safe Toys and Gift Awareness Month for good reason. “It’s really sobering when we see a child with a serious eye injury that could have easily been prevented with common sense or protective eyewear,” says John A. Moran Eye Center ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon, Douglas P Marx, MD.
