At some point, you have probably been asked: “If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?”

Through the Learning Abroad office, students can choose from more than 500 international education programs in more than 60 countries, ranging in length from one week to DOLLE, Megan SP15 Spectacular Sceneryone year. No matter the length, students can gain credit towards a major or minor through academic study, community engaged learning or research opportunities.

There are affordable options for students who want to see the world and integrate that experience into their education and there is more than $200,000 of scholarships available, as well.

How to begin the journey:

  1. Attend Learning Abroad 101: This is a short, one-time information session that will provide guidance and handouts on how to narrow down the 500 program options. The course will review different types of programs, the application process, cost structures, scholarships, financial aid and how to make the most of the search engine. Several sessions are offered each week to fit every busy schedule.
  1. Visit the Global U Expo: Participate in an event designed for students interested in international opportunities, as well as returned Learning Abroad students. Meet with program faculty leaders, affiliate program representatives, exchange partners and returned students about different opportunities and learn about scholarships and financial aid opportunities. Enter to win prizes, including a frame backpack and a Learning Abroad scholarship. The next expo will be held, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Union Ballroom.
