Parking impacts near the Life Science Building
The parking stalls located west of the Life Science Building (on 1400 South) will be unavailable on February 15th. The sidewalk will remain open. Commuters traveling near the impacted area will notice construction activities during this time.
Parking impacts in the hospital east lot
Several parking stalls in the lower portion of the Hospital East Lot (Lot 66) will be unavailable from February 16th through the 18th. The roadway leading to the impacted area will also be closed. Traffic will detour through the upper portion of the lot.
Basketball parking impacts
The Central Garage, Huntsman South Lot and Huntsman West Lot will be reserved during home games for Men’s and Women’s basketball.
West terrace detour
The first phase of the MEDX Building construction was launched with the Medical Examiner’s Office’s demolition. The removal of the building will allow for the construction of a new road leading up toward the College of Nursing parking lot and hospital loading dock. East stadium lot parking impacts
Several stalls located on the east side of the East Stadium Lot will not be available until the Rice-Eccles Stadium expansion construction project is complete.
Mario Capecchi Drive & North Medical Drive intersection expansion
Construction for the expansion of the Mario Capecchi Drive and North Medical Drive intersection will begin mid-September 2020. Motorists traveling east on Mario Capecchi Drive towards the hospital can expect delays and other road disruption for at least 18 months.
New parking garage near hospital
Construction for the new parking garage, located between the Jewish Community Center and the Huntsman Phase V site, is underway and will end in 2022. This project requires mass excavation at the construction site and occasional road impacts on North Medical Drive.
General parking discontinued
Beginning August 3, 2020, all parking lots will be enforced as usual. Anyone parking on campus must have a permit, purchase a day pass or pay the visitor parking hourly fee. Central garage U permit now available online
Beginning August 3rd, the Central Garage U (CU) permit will be available for purchase through the Commuter Services website. You may purchase the Fall Semester CU permit by logging into our parking portal. The waitlist for the CU permit is temporarily disabled but may return in the future if it becomes necessary. Wasatch Drive impacts
Wasatch Drive will be closed beginning Monday, March 23. Access to the Eccles Broadcast lot will still be open on the north end through the roundabout.
