Circle of Hope Drive construction
The construction will impact traffic to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.
Campus Shuttle: Night Route
The Night Route will now run until 10 p.m. Passengers may request a SafeRide, through the TapRide app, until 12:30 a.m. Visit uofubus.com to track all campus shuttles live.
Parking day pass available online only
Temporary parking permits, also known as day passes, are no longer sold at the Commuter Services main office. Day passes must be purchased online.
Campus Shuttle: Purple route change
The Purple route will pick-up and drop-off passengers on Chipeta Way instead of Colorow Road.
Kathryn F. Kirk Center for Cancer Care and Women’s Cancer
Fencing went up around the Kathryn F. Kirk Center for Comprehensive Cancer Care and Women’s Cancer at Huntsman Cancer Institute, the parking lot 60 near the Children’s Center is closed indefinitely and reserved parking stalls will be relocated.
HPER (Lot 24)
The HPER Lot permanently lost approximately 132 stalls located in the southeast section.
Huntsman Cancer Institute Proton Addition
Twenty-one stalls are closed in row 4 of the East Hospital lot (Lot 66). These stalls will be closed to provide access to the Proton Therapy Clinic.
South Campus Housing & Dining
Construction for the new South Campus Housing and Dining Facility continues in parking lot 22 and the women’s soccer field. Parking in lot 22 is closed.
Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium Construction
Construction on the soccer/lacrosse stadium began on Sept. 5, 2018. Rows 11-14 (the L shaped area off the road) and row 88 (the old tennis courts) have been removed.
UTA returning to Regular Services
UTA reduced, modified, or suspended multiple routes as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning August 23, 2020, UTA will resume regular services, which includes increasing TRAX frequency to every 15 minutes. Campus shuttle routes returning
The Blue, Orange, and Circulator (previously known as the Night Route) shuttles will be once again in-service beginning August 17, 2020. These routes will increase service frequency during peak hours to ensure shuttles are not overly crowded. General parking discontinued
Beginning August 3, 2020, all parking lots will be enforced as usual. Anyone parking on campus must have a permit, purchase a day pass or pay the visitor parking hourly fee. 1300 EAST CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Phase 2 of the 1300 East Reconstruction project is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 18. Through-traffic will be closed from 1700 South to 1300 South. Controlled Blasting Activity Near Huntsman Cancer Institute
Controlled blasting techniques for excavation may begin as early as next week on April 30th, 2020 on the Circle of Hope Drive. Expect short traffic stops (approx. 3 minutes), auditory horn signals, small vibrations, noise and dust near the construction site. See the map of traffic stop locations below.
The Utah Department of Transportation is beginning work to improve State Route 186 (Foothill Drive) in Salt Lake City
Sculpture lot closure
The Sculpture lot (Lot 10) will be closed for pavement repairs beginning March 30. The lot will reopen in late-April.
UTA Rail Replacement
UTA will replace the rail between the 900 East to Stadium stations on April 11 through 12. Red Line passengers should use the Bus Bridge to travel between both stations and expect 10-15-minute delays. Visit www.rideuta.com/construction for more details.
East Medical Drive Closure
A portion of East Medical Drive will be undergoing repairs Wednesday, Oct. 16-Saturday, Oct. 19.
1300 East closure and reconstruction
Due to road work, westbound movements through the intersection of 1700 South and 1300 East will be closed.
University Hospital Acute Care Center
During construction of the Acute Care Center, 1900 East will be used for deliveries and construction traffic through fall 2019.
Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital
East Medical Drive will continue to be narrowed to a single lane until late fall 2019
Business Building Visitor Parking (Lot 12)
Traffic will be detoured through the Business Building visitor parking lot, before entering the roundabout. The lane closure will last until Sept. 30, 2019.
Union East (Lot 28) Project Completion
Be aware of some improvements as construction wraps up on the Union East lot.
Red Butte (Lot 75)
To improve safety, the narrow dirt road located northeast of the Red Butte Gardens leading up to the gate will be paved and become an extension of the Red Butte lot.
