Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, UIT will update network switches in all University of Utah buildings. The updates are necessary to ensure that the university’s network continues to operate in a stable and manageable way.
Due to the large number of switches, UIT will update several buildings each day, Monday through Thursday, through January 2026.

No downtime is expected, though the possibility of outages exists.
