MexTour international soccer coming to Rice-Eccles

Stadium, Arena, & Campus Event Services is thrilled to announce an international soccer match taking place at Rice-Eccles Stadium this June. The match is part of MexTour 2025, Mexico’s annual soccer tour that pits the Mexico Men’s National Team against international opponents.

The Mexico Men’s National Team will take on Switzerland at Rice-Eccles on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. as Mexico begins preparations for this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match, which is part of the 22nd annual MexTour, will be the tour’s second-ever visit to Utah and a first at Rice-Eccles.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. through www.SomosLocales.com. Fans are encouraged to pre-register on the website for future ticket information and the opportunity to have first access to purchase limited ticket inventory for all venues.

The match at the stadium will be the 6th meeting between Mexico and Switzerland. Switzerland leads the series with 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. The last match between the two teams ended 5-1 in favor of Switzerland on January 26, 1994, at Alameda County Stadium in Oakland, California. Mexico is currently ranked 19th in the FIFA men’s national team rankings, while Switzerland is ranked 20th.

The match will be broadcast nationally on the TelevisaUnivision family of networks, Fox Deportes in English, and the Univision Radio Network.
