The University of Utah has deepened our commitment to creating a culture of care and belonging for students. By acknowledging that students are the experts of their own experiences, the decision has been made to assemble a permanent advisory board to help inform and create this culture. The board will be spearheaded by Dr. Sherrá Watkins, Associate Vice President for Student Health and Wellness, and will also routinely call on participation from other health and well-being colleagues as well as other campus and community experts.
The Student Health and Wellness Advisory Board will have the opportunity to better understand and inform the university’s approach and continued plans to provide comprehensive health and well-being services, programs, and initiatives to all university students. Advisory Board members will be able to provide advice, suggestions, feedback, and ideas to help strengthen and boost well-being on campus.
Composition of the Advisory Board
The advisory board will consist of a wide selection of student representatives, ensuring that both undergraduate and graduate perspectives are included. The goal is to reflect crucial voices in advancing the university’s student well-being strategy. The board will include two student representatives in each of the following areas:
- Student Health Center
- Center for Campus Wellness

- Center for Disability & Access
- University Counseling Center
