Employee Appreciation Day, the U’s annual employee recognition event, is taking place this week on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. We’re excited to celebrate our amazing employees with a day filled with entertainment, relaxation and free swag. All University of Utah, HCI, U of U Health faculty and staff (including student employees) are invited to attend.
Employees should be sure to bring their cellphone to check into the event via QR code registration and Utah360. An alternative means of entry is available to those without a cellphone.

How to get to EAD
TRAX: Scanning your Ucard and hopping on the TRAX red line for a free ride is the best way to get to EAD this year. All University of Utah employees ride for free on TRAX (and bus). The Red Line will bring you directly to Stadium Station. Use UTA’s website to plan your TRAX journey.
EAD shuttles: There are two special event shuttles for EAD to escort guests from downtown and Research Park. Live tracking of these shuttles will be available on Sept. 17 via maps.utah.edu (click on “Shuttles” from the menu and then toggle “Special Event” to see both of the EAD shuttles).

Parking: Parking is extremely limited for Employee Appreciation Day, so we highly suggest our guests utilize campus shuttles or the TRAX system to get to the event. If parking is required, there are moratoriums on a few lots (first-come, first-served):

Opportunities for hospitals & clinics employees
The EAD planning Team understands it’s difficult to get away from your important clinical duties to attend our in-person EAD event, so that’s why we are bringing EAD to you. This year, the Hospitals & Clinics Recognition Team will be setting up treat stations on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the following locations:
- Huntsman Cancer Hospital
- Huntsman Mental Health Institute
- Crises Center
- University Orthopaedic Center
- Main University Hospital
This team will also plan on delivering treats to their Service Delivery Areas (SDA’s) on a date to be determined:
- South Jordan Health Center – South SDA
- Farmington Health Center – North SDA
- Sugar House Health Center – Central SDA
