BYU-Utah game spurs good-natured rivalry

The University of Utah is hosting a series of extracurricular contests on campus before the Nov. 9 football game. The events include competitions between student clubs from both universities, a concert series and shared service project.

Organized by the university’s Prosperity U and Interfaith Initiative, the week’s events are meant to showcase healthy competition and collaboration between the two campuses.

The schedule

Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.

Friday Night Hype at the Epicenter

  • Skate Club, Arm Wrestling Club, DJ Estrada and street tacos and others

Monday, Nov. 4 from 12 to 12:20 p.m.

  • Momentum Dancing Breakdancing

Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Epicenter Concert Series

  • Singer/songwriter night
    Anna Beck
    Jordan Moyes
    Talin Everett
    Kaytlin Numbers

Thursday, Nov. 7 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Powderpuff Football at McCarthy Field

  • Three teams each from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University will compete in a tournament

Friday, Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Joint Service Project at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter

  • 300 first-year students from BYU/UU assembling kits for refugees
