If you work with a full-time or part-time staff colleague who goes above and beyond the scope of their job duties, or you supervise someone who deserves appreciation for their superior service, consider nominating them for a University of Utah Staff Excellence Award.

Nominations for this university-wide staff recognition program open on our online nomination portal on Friday, May 1, 2026, and will close on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Twenty-four full-time Staff Excellence Awards and four part-time awards will be given across four districts. From the pool of 24 full-time district awardees, eight finalists will be selected as the University of Utah Presidential Staff Excellence awardees; these finalists receive a $3,750 honorarium, personalized plaque and special recognition at the annual awards ceremony held in the fall.

Nominations should be made in line with the university’s Six Commitments to Our Community. Nominators should be prepared to demonstrate how their nominee highly exemplifies one of these commitments in their work and contributions to the University of Utah.
